Yikes! Presently, the national debt is more than $21 trillion.

Makeup America! and its founder Randa Fahmy is chipping away at the mountain debt confronting the nation.

How? They’re not only encouraging the American entrepreneurial spirit but contributing $1 of every product sold toward paying down the U.S. national debt.

OAP connected with Fahmy about her makeup line and her patriotism. She shared the successes, the symbolism of her products –and of course, helping the nation get out of debt.

Patriotic at Heart

Makeup America! founder Randa Fahmy is chipping away at the mountain debt confronting the nation.

Fahmy was born New York and raised in Pennsylvania. As the daughter of immigrants, she cherished the American dream. Her favorite day was July 4, 1976, during America’s bicentennial when she rode a red, white and blue Sears bike through the streets cheering  ‘Happy 200th Birthday America!’

She moved to Washington D.C. to pursue a career in law and politics.

“No politician was focused on reducing our national debt. After all, aren’t we taught to mind our personal debt? But who is looking out for America’s debt? Driven by our country’s entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to unite and empower women, I decided to combine my passion for fashion and admiration for America to create Makeup America!”

Most Americans don’t recognize that they can make personal contributions to pay down the U.S. National Debt.

The National Debt

“A growing national debt drives up interest rates, affecting student loans and small businesses, many of which are owned by women. Rising debt also prompts the threat of cuts to Veterans Benefits, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, of which women are the majority beneficiaries,” she explains. “The decision to add to the national debt is made by politicians on both sides of the aisle. The cost of programs and spending priorities along with shifting our national financial resources are the culprits.”

Meanwhile, the makeup line is skyrocketing. They teamed up with the U.S. Olympic Committee and the media coverage of the brand was featured on Fox & Friends, Allure, Cosmopolitan and Dancing with the Stars.

American Made

“We feel confident that we are leading the revolution in American beauty. Most American beauty brands do not make their cosmetics in America; therefore, they cannot guarantee the quality and transparency of ingredients; whether or not the products are tested on animals, abidance to health and safety regulations, and quality control within the manufacturing environment.”

Symbolic Meanings

The costs of the lipsticks and nail polishes have symbolic meanings. They are patriotically priced at $13.76 and $17.76 in honor of our Declaration of Independence and the 13 Original Colonies. “Our products are named after America’s most recognized icons, like Independence Red, By Dawn’s Early Light, Sandy Shores, White Stripes, Lady Liberty and United We Stand.”

Makeup is universal in a nonexclusive world. Fahmy hopes to build “Makeup America! to be America’s beauty brand – reflecting the American Spirit of diversity, independence, freedom, and beauty – just like the United States of America.”

The company plans to include Phase 2 soon to offer a full line of products including foundation, blush, lip and eyeliner, mascara and a men’s line of products branded M’America for Men!
